Campground Information & Rules

General Store / Office Hours: Summer (April - Sept.): Daily 10AM - 8PM. Winter (Oct. - March): Daily 9AM - 5PM

Check-in hours are from 12PM to 9PM during the summer and 12PM to 6PM in the winter. If you're planning to arrive earlier, please give us a call in advance to check availability and arrange an early check-in. There's a small fee of $10 for early check-ins, so be sure to plan accordingly. 

To ensure a peaceful atmosphere for all our guests, we escort each camper to their site and kindly ask that setups are completed before our quiet hours begin at 11PM.

We're committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, which is why we do not offer check-ins after 10:30PM. We kindly request that you plan your arrival accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

For those arriving between 9:00PM and 10:30PM, we'll have a clipboard at the check-in station with your name, site number, and a map to your site. However, please note that during this time, we won't be able to provide personal assistance in guiding you to your site. It's important to park your rig responsibly to avoid any accidents or damage to other vehicles or campground property.  Any damage caused by parking unassisted is the responsibility of the camper.

 

Check-out: By 11AM. We offer contactless checkout; no need to stop at the office. Leave no trace. Late check out may be available (depending on the next reservation) 12PM check-out $10, 2PM check-out $25.  You must get pre-approval at office that morning.

Emergencies:     Campground Maintenance: (910) 842-1809 during office hours. After Hours Emergencies: (865) 309-6721. For all other emergencies (fire, medical, or other rescue need) please call 911.  All other non-emergency matters should be addressed during office hours.

Quiet Hours / Lights Out:   11PM - 7AM. Please allow others to get a good night's sleep.

Speed Limit: Do not exceed 5 MPH.  You will be fined $25 for exceeding this speed limit. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the campground without refund.  You are responsible for your guests.

Vehicles & Golf Carts: No speeding, reckless, or drunk driving. All vehicles must be registered and insured, be road worthy, be driven on the roadways only, and by a licensed driver.  Obey standard traffic rules. (5 MPH)

Parking: You may have 1 vehicle parked at your site. Parked vehicles must be fully off the road and within your campsite.  Overflow parking for vehicles is available in designated areas, first come first serve.

Children: For safety, children should be supervised by an adult at all times. Children riding bikes, using bathhouses, playground, pool, General Store, Mining Sluice, dog park, nature areas, etc. must be supervised by an adult at all times. 

Pets:     No more than 2 pets are allowed per campsite for nightly guests. Pets must be leashed and with a human at all times outside. Aggressive and/or excessively loud dogs will be asked to leave.  Always clean up after your pet.  Pets are prohibited in bathrooms, in pool, and on Shuttle. Pets may not be left unattended. Pets must always be on a leash with the owner on the other side of the leash. We no longer allow dog pens, or pet fencing of any type. $25 Fine for any violations. 

Visitors: All visitors must register at Check-In Station  or General Store upon arrival.  $5 per person daily visitor fee applies (all ages).

Tent Campers:     Must have a tent.  Only 1 tent per tent campsite.  No tents on RV campsites. Rates are for 2 adults (18+). $5 per additional adult per night. 6 total people maximum per site.  Do not tie, nail, or screw anything to trees; hammock straps are acceptable. Clotheslines are permitted for the temporary drying of beach towels & swimwear only.  They must be attached to the tent or camper, do not attach to trees. Tarps are permitted for temporary emergencies during rain only. No generators. Pets may not be left unattended in tent or on campsite.

RV Campers:   Rates include 2 adult campers. Rates are for 2 adults (18+). $5 per additional adult per night. 6 total people maximum per site. No camping tents on RV sites; tent campsites are available.  Pop-up campers or any RV without standard full hookups restroom facilities may not stay for more than 10 days for sanitary reasons. Dumping black tanks into campground facilities after use of any wet wipes or feminine hygiene products is prohibited; TP only. Clotheslines are permitted for the temporary drying of beach towels & swimwear only.  They must be attached to the tent or camper, do not attach to trees. Tarps are permitted for temporary emergencies during rain only. No generators unless campground power is unavailable.

Reservation Changes & Cancellations:   Camping is an outdoor experience, therefore, we do not give refunds due to sand, trees, bugs, weather, the discomforts of nature, illness, death, work schedules, dislike of your neighbors, or change of plans.  We do not give any refunds / pro-rate for early departure. Full refunds will be made for cancellations that are a minimum of 14 days before your arrival date. A partial refund will be made for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date. Any cancellation made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date will not be refunded. Lock fees are not refundable. 

Wi-Fi Internet / TV / Free DVD Rental:     Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the campground; “HBRV Happy Camper” / No Password. Cable TV is not available.  Sign out a free DVD from our library at the camp store.

Swimming Pool Rules

  • The pool is for HBRV registered guests only.

  • ALL swimmers must shower BEFORE entering the pool. Seriously.

  • Swim at own risk. No lifeguard on duty. Do not swim alone. Do not swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • We reserve the right to expel anyone from the pool if they are engaging in unsafe activities or not following the pool rules.

  • NO glass containers or food on the pool deck.

  • NO DISPOSABLE DIAPERS ALLOWED! Children in diapers must wear SWIM DIAPERS underneath a COVERING SUIT.

  • Proper swimwear required. No street clothes, gym clothes, or cut-off shorts.

  • NO DIVING!

  • NO RUNNING AT ANY TIME!

  • NO horseplay, pushing, dunking or fooling around on the pool deck or in the water. No potentially hazardous water entries may be made from the side of the pool.

  • Floating devices used for leisure are not allowed. Only noodles are permitted in the pool. Use of approved flotation or safety devices permitted only with direct adult supervision.

  • Swimmers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, 18 years of age or older at all times while in the pool area.

  • No animals inside the pool fenced area.

  • The pool is open from dawn to dusk. The pool will close during regular pool hours during maintenance, inclement weather, lightning, thunderstorm, and/or heavy rain. The pool will open as soon as weather conditions improve, and appropriate time period has passed. No refunds if any HBRV amenity is unavailable for any reason.

Campfires / Fire Rings / Picnic Tables:    Fire rings & Picnic tables are included.  Do not move fire rings. Do not burn Trash or leave trash in fire rings. Do not bring in firewood which could contain bugs.  Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store.    No cutting of plants / trees.

Wildlife & Wilderness:     Do not harm wildlife.  Please be cautious of venomous snakes such as copperheads, alligators who frequent NC inland waters & wetlands, & plants such as thorns or poison ivy.  Please respect the forest. No trees, bushes, or plants, to be cut, removed, defaced, damaged, or injured in any way. Do not tie, nail, or screw anything to trees; hammock straps are acceptable. No swimming in ponds. Catch & release fishing permitted, no license required.

Trash:        Follow the golden rule of camping and leave your site cleaner than you found it. $25 fine for site cleanup (i.e. Trash on ground or in fire pit, pet waste, cigarette butts, peanut shells, etc.) We do not have site trash pickup. Place your trash in the dumpsters provided. The dumpsters are for household trash only.  Items such as furniture, appliances, mattresses, construction debris, chairs, etc. must be taken to a landfill:

  • Convenience Center.  1709 Oxpen Road SW, Supply, NC 28462.  8AM - 6PM Mon., Wed., Fri. & Sat.

  • Brunswick County Landfill. 172 Landfill Rd NE, Bolivia, NC 28422.  8AM – 4PM Monday through Saturday.

Restrooms & Laundry:     Leave area clean & notify management if disorderly or requires maintenance. Laundry payments vis Gpay App. Children must be supervised at all times. Dish, pet, and clothes washing in the restrooms is prohibited for sanitary reasons.

Safety: Any type of public disturbance will not be tolerated. Illegal drugs, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and use of profane language will not be tolerated. Violation is grounds for your immediate ejection. If police are called for any disturbance, the campsite must be vacated immediately - No Refunds.  All guests must comply with federal, state, local laws, and campground rules. 

This is a private park and your safety is important to us. Please notify the office if others will be visiting your site, and provide their names and vehicle information. NC and Federal laws enables the carry of legally registered firearms and we generally encourage you to legally ensure your personal protection. The recreational use of firearms, BB-guns, slingshots, and fireworks are prohibited within our campground.

Please Respect Others: Do not enter or walk through the sites of others unless invited. Keep your possessions and vehicles on your own site. Do not crowd or encroach on other sites (whether vacant or occupied) or on the "green space" or breathing room between sites. Keep personal belongs concealed, especially when not present.  We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. No solicitation. 

Mail & Packages: Guests may receive packages. Paper mail is not permitted. A $3.00 per package/letter fee applies to accepting and processing your packages. Address mail to: HBRV, Attn: <name of person on reservation>, 2886 Holden Beach SW, Supply, NC 28462. Do not put your campsite number in the address. Mail systems that require a Suite number may use the optional STE: “Office”. Packages will be returned to sender if not picked up after 3 days. We do not offer forwarding services. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages, mail addressed incorrectly with campsite numbers or peoples names who are not the registered guest on a reservation, or carriers who indicate mail was delivered which was not delivered. Alternately, you may get a monthly PO Box at USPS or the UPS store in Shallotte. Also, the UPS store offers a ‘Package Only’ delivery service for $5 per package.

Policies, Rates, and/or Sites are subject to change at any time.  We reserve the right to enter any site at any time.  We are not responsible for damages, injury, or loss by accident, weather-related damage, theft, or fire to RV or property of any guest. We reserve the right to refuse service and to decline to allow a space to be occupied. HBRV property and amenities are for HBRV registered guests only. The registered guest is the “responsible party” and accountable for the actions of all family members and visitors. We reserve the right to eject any guest, without refund of rent or deposit, for:  Unpaid campsite fees, Violation of any rules / policies, Repeated speeding violations, Verbal or physical threats / actions from any guest or visitor to another guest, visitor, employee, or management, Deliberate damage or destruction of property belonging to HBRV, other guest or visitor. Payments: Insufficient Funds / Bounced Checks will be charged $50 fee.

Additional Information for Monthly Guests

Guests may not claim residency at HBRV.

Monthly Guest Requirements

  • Campers must be manufactured in the year 2000 or newer to be eligible for a monthly rate.

  • Campers older than 15 years old will be inspected by the camp management before approval into the campground.

  • Mobile homes are not permitted.

  • Permanent additions (indoor living space, heated square footage) are not permitted. Campers must remain mobile.

  • Campers must be registered, insured, and titled in the name of the registered guest.

  • Background checks are required for any adult guest staying more than 30 days.

  • Valid Credit Card information must be on file at all times.

  • Guests must have a valid driver's license and own a vehicle. A copy of a driver’s license and camper registration must be provided to the office.

  • Subletting is not permitted.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or end reservations and/or eject guests for any reason, at any time, without refund.

Payments

  • Payments may be made online, at the office during business hours or by phone at (910) 842 - 1809. We do not accept cash or checks. All payments are ACH or credit card.

  • No refunds for early departure

  • Late Payments - Payments are due on the first of the month. Payments made after the 5th of the month will be subject to a 10% late fee. If monthly payment is not made by the 10th of the month your reservation will be cancelled and you will be asked to leave the campground.

  • Sites with electric meters will be billed by consumption. Sites without meters will receive a $150 per month fee for electricity.


Pets

Some visitors enjoy sharing the pleasures of camping with their dogs or cats. To ensure that all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we have established some guidelines.

▪ All pets must have proof of current vaccinations. 

• We do not accept animals with any bite history. 

• No more than 2 pets are allowed per site with monthly reservations.

• Bring the leash. Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside their owners' vehicle/RV. ($25 fine for violations) Do not leave a tethered dog unattended. 

• Please clean up your pet waste and dispose of it properly.  Pet droppings must be picked up immediately, on or off your site. ($25 fine for each violation)

• Good behavior is required. Dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive will be asked to leave the campground, along with their owners and reservation responsible guest.

• Remember manners. Constant barking bothers other campers. If your pet is too vocal, you'll need to find other accommodations.

• All pets must be kept inside when you are not at your site. 

• Bring your helper. Service dogs are welcomed. (Leash and aggressive behavior rules apply.)


An Attractive and Healthy Park...

• You must be able to pack your camper and campsite yourself in the event of a weather evacuation.   

• RVs must remain mobile and are not permitted to be placed on blocks/foundations, or have tie-down straps.  

• Keep your site neat and clean.  If your site is not kept clean you will be given a notice to clean it within 24 hours.  If not addressed, you will be charged a $10 per day fee until resolved. 

  • Permitted: Fire pit, picnic table, outdoor furniture, 1 grill, cooler, 1 outdoor rug (only on gravel areas, not on grass), 1 canopy, 5 potted plants, minimal string / solar path lights turned off at quiet hours.     [Anything else can be kept inside of your camper or in a storage unit]

  • Not permitted: Garbage, indoor rugs, indoor furniture, indoor fixtures, appliances, pools, hot tubs, jacuzzi, fences, tools, lawn/garden tools, weedwhackers, lawnmowers, broken down tools/parts/vehicles, tires, paint cans, construction materials, exercise equipment, pet waste, pet fencing, gardens (use community garden), plants in the ground (use pots), wood in contact with dirt, firewood more than 30 days old, sheds, decks, anything hanging on trees, or anything moldy or deteriorating, anything not designed for outdoor camping / tiny living, etc. 

▪ You must keep the exterior of your RV clean and in good repair and your yard clear of leaves, sticks, etc.  If your RV has mold, you must clean/power wash your RV ASAP. If your RV is not kept clean you will be given a notice to clean it within 24 hours.  If not addressed, you will be charged a $10 per day fee until resolved. 

• You must obtain permission before making any alterations or additions to your site, including vegetation. 

• We do not allow any construction that requires a permit from Brunswick County.

• We do not allow any permanent building additions, fences, sheds, porches, or decks.

• Small stairs and door-height platforms (not to exceed 4’x5’ or 20 sq ft) are permitted, if you have safety concerns using your standard camper steps. They must be made of treated lumber. It must be temporary, above ground, not on a permanent foundation, not attached to the RV, and on blocks / not touching dirt in any way. We recommend you hire a local handyman/contractor for construction.

• No Plywood or OSB may be used on your site.

No Tarps may cover your RV for more than 7 days while repairs are made.

• Disabled, non-licensed, non-registered, or non-insured vehicles must be repaired or removed within 7 days or it will be towed at owner's expense.  

You are required to keep your site vegetation properly maintained, including frequent grass cutting, weed pulling, up-keeping any landscaping, etc.  Do not cut down or trim any tree or shrub within the campground. Some are protected by state law.  Please report any limb concerns or shrubbery trimming requests to the office.

Winter: Only manufactured skirting is permitted, and in the winter season only.  You are responsible to winterize your camper. In freezing temperatures you should disconnect your hose and sewer lines.  Should you choose to keep them connected, you should keep water dripping and wrap exterior hoses in insulation and approved hose heating elements.   If your hose freezes and bursts the campground pipes, you will be charged a $150 repair fee. Any winterization should be removed by March 1st.
